Important: The protective components inside surge protectors absorb over-voltage spikes to protect your connected devices which means they will eventually wear out. Replace them at least every 3 years or immediately after any over-voltage spike event such as a thunderstorm or power outage because surge protectors degrade faster if they are exposed to high intensity events. Periodically check the surge protector enclosure and cable for signs of wear or heat distress. Replace an expired surge protector with a new one at the end of its useful life.
NOTE: The USB ports are intended solely for charging devices. They cannot be used as a USB hub and do not transmit data.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2018Compact Surge Protector. Slow charge from USB with my Galaxy S9+ (it makes no difference if its plugged in while charging or relying solely on its rechargeable battery. This however may not be the fault of the charger, as Samsung has become very picky with its charge sources, cables, etc. These mobile devices sometimes fail to do a fast charge even with the stock charger and cable...
I'm giving this device 5-stars, as it accomplishes what the description said.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2018***update. Only 4 months and the battery pack failed. The lights just flash and provides no power to the USB. No support from Belkin, they just keep asking for more information, even though they have already been provided the information they are asking for. Not sure if the surge is working or not as that light blinks the same time as the battery pack lights, but I would guess not, no indication there was a power failure anytime near when the devise failed.Do not buy this product*****
I bought this with the propose to be if my power went out my phone would continue to charge while I was sleeping. It also provides surge protection to my table lamp and adjustable bed so I only had to buy 1 devise instead of 2. It will not power them in a power outage, but if I'm sleeping I dont need them and have an UPS/batteries/inverters if needed.
THIS IS NOT AN AC UPS IT WILL ONLY POWER USB DEVICES.
It does not fast charge my phone (Samsung S7), but since I use this for charging while I am sleeping that is not a deal breaker, but would have been nice. The only time so far I have had to use it my phone was not fully charged when I woke up, it was over 80% so I would call it a success. Once i woke up I immediately placed it in my car to finish charging as I prepared to go to work. Also is nice that I can unplug it and use it as a battery pack.
Wish it had a larger battery capacity and would fast charge my phone, but it does the job as advertised for about 1/4 the price of a UPS.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 27, 2017This is a good device to have when travelling, domestically or abroad. Note, when travelling abroad, you'll need an adapter to plug into different outlets.
Surge protector/2 outlets
The most handy feature give you access to two electrical outlets. You can charge your laptop or camera batter at once. It also comes with a surge protector which gives peace of mind that it'll offer more protection for your devices than plugging directly into the wall. There is a USB outlet that delivers up to 2A to charge a phone, tablet, battery pack, etc.
USB battery pack
There is an internal battery pack for charging USB devices. There is a row of 4 lights on top of the device that gives a readout on how much power is remaining in the battery. The product description states that it has a 3000mh battery but in my experience using it, I've felt the longevity and power reserve of the battery to be far below the stated 3000mh. It feels more like 1000mh. I would not feel comfortable with this as my only battery pack to power my phone through a long flight.
This comes close to being a fantastic travel accessory. It delivers surge protection for peace of mind, it gives two outlets to charge more devices, and it has a battery pack to charge USB devices. The only fault I find is the short lived battery. It comes close to replacing an outlet splitter and battery pack but because of the battery that I don't think actually has a 3000mh capacity, I'll be packing an additional battery in my bag.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 13, 2017If this cost more than it does I would give it fewer stars. Here are my frustrations with this:
- The AC outlets have limited function. I frequently travel and needed a battery for east-to-west coast flights while working on my laptop. These AC outlets won't power my laptop! I also tried plugging in my AC-to-USB iPhone plug so I could charge two USB devices at once and it was unresponsive.
- If I charge my iPhone7 and a Bluetooth earbud, this battery is depleted
- I have a cheap Chinese no-name portable battery (no AC outlets) that can charge my phone 2.5 times by comparison
If this is designed to charge by AC outlets or high current USB, that is exactly what it should do, unquestionably. Instead it has current limitations that are unadvertised, making it useless for half of its intended applications.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 21, 2024This doesn’t work as the description suggests. It doesn’t charge while plugged into the wall, or when plugged in to an extension, and doesn’t charge anything regardless of what you’re trying to charge. DO NOT BUY THIS!!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 27, 2019I got these as inexpensive surge protectors for my cell phone charging station and other electronic devices that don't have protection. - Reviewed in the United States on May 2, 2017I thought this unit was just okay. The size is a lot bigger than I thought it would be. I was planning to take this on business travel. Typically hotels only have a couple of outlets available, and I have a ton of electronics I need to charge up (ie battery pack, camera, cellphone, ipad, computer, etc) so I I thought this would do great since it is a battery pack and can expand one outlet to 2. However I found this wouldn't work for me..
1. It only is rated for 120V so many foreign countries this thing would work
2. It has 3 prongs to plug in.. places like Japan has only 2 prongs available so I would have to break off the ground if I wanted to use it in those hotels.
3, It is HUGE. It is a lot larger that I expected.
4. The prongs on the plug makes the unit face downwards. Some hotels I go to have prongs just a little above desk, hence the plug couldn't even fit there since it would need to go below the desk's height.
5. Battery has lower capacity. I knew this was lower capacity, but figure it was enough for one full charge in a emergency. However due to the size, it's just better to carry a dedicated battery that would have 4 times the power capacity.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product for travel!
Perfect for travel...good ratings for amperage and protection with the added bonus of being an emergency battery back-up for one or two cell phone charges. Good size for a travel pack/organizer especially with the retractable prongs

1.0 out of 5 stars I throw away..
Honestly, the ideia was amazing, but this item is trash at all!! DON"T buy this item, the switch doesn't work at all, only USB and even the USB doesn't charge very well...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great!
Great! Exactly what I needed! Works amazingly and holds battery life for days! I go to school full time and would always struggle to keep my phone charged up on long days, with this I can plug my phone in and keep it all in my jacket pocket.

3.0 out of 5 stars Battery Size much smaller and not as advertised.
Battery size is no way near as advertised. At most, this is a 1500 mAh sized battery.
The plugs, however, do work OK. Its difficult to initially pull out and fold down the three-prong folded wall plug (you need a straight tool to initially pry it out).
The next version of this product should have the following improvements:
1. Larger Battery.
2. Two top USB receptacles (instead of just one).
3. Make it easier to fold out the wall plug.
Belkin, please take note of these suggestions.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not an optimal hybrid
Way too bulky. Featuring only two AC outlets, one USB outlet and 3000mAh power reserve, this thing is twice as large as my 6000mAh power bank, which has three USB outputs. Not featuring Belkin's ingenious swivel plug, this thing would have trouble fitting in practically anywhere. So if it is a surge protector you need, go get just a surge protector; if it is a power brick you need, at the same size you can get 10000mAh juice on others. But putting them together is a seemingly great, actually sucks idea.
