This small Android tablet has a 9-inch OLED display and launches next week

Small Android tablets are getting a revival, as Redmagic has just started officially teasing its “Gaming Tablet 3 Pro” which is said to have a 9-inch OLED display and, now, has a launch date of June 11.

The Lenovo Legion Tab lit a fire for the small Android tablet market. The gaming tablet delivers a high-end experience with powerful specs, but the one thing lacking is ironically its most important feature – the display. Lenovo’s 165Hz, 8.8-inch LCD display is fine, but it’s not particularly stunning as we explained in our review:

The display itself, though, isn’t the biggest highlight. The 165Hz panel is fast for games and has good range on its brightness, but the backlight has some uneven areas. I’d have much rather had a 144Hz or 120Hz AMOLED panel in place of this LCD. It’s perfectly acceptable as is, but it could be better.

That’s why another new Android tablet is so enticing.

There have been rumors swirling around a 9-inch gaming tablet from Redmagic, and the company just showed off the Android tablet for the first time.

In a post on Weibo, Redmagic confirms that the Gaming Tablet 3 Pro is launching on June 11, and says that it is “smaller and more powerful” and “can fit in your pocket.” The company doesn’t confirm the screen size (or tech), but it’s still nice to finally see the design. This is definitely a more gaming-centric look compared to the Legion Tab, but it’s also not completely obnoxious.

The June 11 launch date is likely for China only, but Redmagic does sell its devices in other regions, so we’re certainly hoping to see this one arrive on the global stage at some point.
