Apple just wrapped up its WWDC 2025 keynote, unveiling new features across all its platforms, including iOS 26 and watchOS 26. As expected, the first developer beta of macOS Tahoe 26 is already live. Here’s how to install it.

As the event wrapped up, Apple released developer beta 1 of macOS Tahoe 26. And while the public beta will be released next month, regular users and developers alike can both easily the developer release immediately.

Here’s how to install the macOS Tahoe 26 developer beta 1:
- Backup your Mac
- Open System Settings
- Go to General ⇾ Software Update
- Click the ‘i’ icon next to Beta Updates
- From the dropdown menu in the top-right, select the macOS Developer Tahoe Beta
- Hit ‘Done’

Apple warns that beta software is not intended for devices you rely on in day-to-day use, and it’s for good reason. While first betas can be a bit rough, apps or features can break on a given beta during the cycle. Stability and reliability can vary quite a lot from beta to beta, so install it with extreme caution.
