Here’s everything new Apple TV+ has coming in August

Apple TV+ is enjoying its biggest year ever, and has a strong fall lineup around the corner. Before summer ends, though, August will bring new seasons of high-profile shows like sci-fi drama Invasion and comedy Platonic, alongside brand new series like Chief of War. Here’s everything new coming to Apple TV+ in August.

Chief of War

  • When: August 1
  • What: TV Show
  • Genre: Drama

Chief of War” is based on true events. With Hawaii’s four kingdoms divided by war, the ferocious warrior Kaʻiana (Jason Momoa) embarks on an epic mission to unite his people—as an existential threat approaches their shores.


Stillwater (season 4)

  • When: August 1
  • What: TV Show
  • Genre: Kids & Family

In “Stillwater,” siblings Karl, Addy and Michael have a very special next-door neighbor: a wise panda named Stillwater. His friendship and stories give them new perspectives on the world, themselves, and each other.


Platonic (season 2)

  • When: August 6
  • What: TV Show
  • Genre: Comedy

Platonic” season two picks up with everyone’s favorite pair of best friends (Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne) as they contend with new midlife hurdles, including work, weddings and partners in crises. The duo tries their best to be each other’s rock — but sometimes rocks break things. The season two cast also includes Luke Macfarlane and Carla Gallo, and introduces Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney and Beck Bennett as guest stars.


Snoopy Presents: A Summer Musical

  • When: August 15
  • What: TV Special
  • Genre: Kids & Family

Snoopy Presents: A Summer Musical” is a musical special about the joy and magic of summer camp and the importance of preserving what you love. Charlie Brown loves camp and is determined to make his final year special, but Sally, a first-time camper, is nervous and skeptical of the new and unfamiliar place. While everyone settles into camp, Snoopy and Woodstock discover a treasure map that takes them on a wild adventure nearby.


Invasion (season 3)

  • When: August 22

  • Genre: Sci-Fi

Invasion” follows an alien invasion through different perspectives around the world. In season three, those perspectives collide for the first time, as the series’ main characters are brought together to work as a team on a critical mission to infiltrate the alien mothership. The ultimate apex aliens have finally emerged, rapidly spreading their deadly tendrils across the planet. It will take all heroes working together, using their experience and expertise, to save the species. New relationships are formed, old relationships are challenged and even shattered, as an international cast of characters must become a team before it’s too late.


Shape Island (season 2)

  • When: August 29
  • What: TV Show
  • Genre: Kids & Family

In “Shape Island,” three best friends seek adventure and connection while learning how to navigate each other’s differences. Based on the books by Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen.


New episodes: Foundation, Acapulco, Smoke

Foundation season 3

Joining all of the Apple TV+ debuts above, August will bring new episodes of several currently airing series.

New episodes will arrive for, most notably:

  • Foundation, the sci-fi epic has new episodes coming through September 12
  • Acapulco, the feel-good bilingual comedy continues through September 17
  • Smoke, the crime thriller from Black Bird’s team wraps up August 15
