For me, the base model M4 Pro MacBook Pro is where it’s at. It is, in my opinion, the best laptop on the planet – there’s nothing wrong with the M4 models, but they aren’t quite as powerful, and no one is denying the brute force power of the M4 Max, but they are seriously expensive. That said, Amazon is now offering the 14-inch M4 Pro MacBook Pro with 24GB of RAM and the 512GB SSD (the most affordable model) at $250 off the list price. Details below.
You’ll now find this configuration from $1,749 shipped via Amazon. Regularly $1,999, this is a straight up $250 price drop and the lowest price we can find. While there was a wild $300 discount live for a very brief time that went in and out of stock over the holidays last year, today’s deal is otherwise on par with the best price we have tracked and the most readily available Black Friday offer.
Again, there’s no shame is scooping up an M4 version of Apple’s latest MacBook Pro, it is indeed a wonderful machine. But there’s always been something about the M4 Pro, be it the more powerful chip or the fact that you get more RAM on the most affordable config (24GB in this case), that make it seem like a more sound investment – something I will be happy with next year, and probably the year after too.
While the 512GB of storage on this model might leave something to be desired for some folks, and understandably so, I would prefer to put my money towards the RAM and chip and not the storage personally. That said, we are indeed still tracking this model with the upgraded 1TB SSD starting from $2,149 shipped – this is also $250 off the $2,399 list price. We did see drop as low as $2,099 for Black Friday last year, but we might need to get word of the next-gen model before we start seeing prices like that again.
