The TP-Link Router skill for Alexa makes managing your home network simpler and more convenient than ever before:
- Pause the Wi-Fi for some time when you need to cut the internet distractions
- Pause the Wi-Fi for the children's devices at bedtime.
- Enable the guest network when friends come over
- Activate WPS to add new devices to the network
- Turn off the router’s LEDs at night
- Check the internet speed you’re getting from your provider
- Prioritize online applications or devices at those important moments
To get started with the TP-Link Router skill:
1. Prepare an AVS (Alexa Voice Service) enabled device such as Amazon Echo, Amazon Tap or Echo Dot.
2. Get an Alexa-supported TP-Link product. For the supported product list, visit https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/alexa-compatibility/.
3. Have a TP-Link ID bound to this TP-Link product. This TP-Link ID is the TP-Link account you used to manage your TP-Link products. You can register a TP-Link ID on product’s web management page, via Deco app, TP-Link Tether app or Kasa Smart app.
4. Enable this skill by following instructions in TP-Link Tether App or Deco App.
5. Say "Alexa, open TP-Link" to start using voice commands to manage your home network.
Supported commands on TP-Link router:
• Alexa, pause the Wi-Fi for Timmy's iPad for 1 hour. (Only Deco M5 supported)
• Alexa, pause the Wi-Fi for 2 hours. (Only Deco M5 supported)
• Alexa, ask TP-Link to enable guest network.
• Alexa, ask TP-Link to turn on my router's lights.
• Alexa, tell TP-Link I want to connect a new device to the network.
• Alexa, ask TP-Link to enable night mode.
• Alexa, ask TP-Link to prioritize gaming.
• Alexa, ask TP-Link to run a speed test.
