- Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2025Style: SOLIS Media RemoteVerified PurchaseI've had several media remotes for Xbox, including the official Microsoft offering from the 360 days, and several third party remotes. This one is perhaps the best I've used next to the old official one (which I'm fairly certain won't work with later Xbox consoles).
The buttons feel decent. The backlight stays on long enough to do the job. The layout is the best feature; it's not too cluttered, the media buttons are at the bottom where they belong, the back button is in a place similar to other device remotes, and the ability to recharge via solar power is excellent (though you can use USB C if you prefer.)
In terms of design it reminds me a bit of the standard Samsung device remotes, with a notched-up volume control toggle. It's thin, and feels like a quality built remote. It actually has a little weight to it, but not too much.
The Xbox button (AKA "Home") works to power on your Xbox as long as it's on the fast wake power setting. You get a stop button on this one, as opposed to many of the others out there, and ABXY buttons are laid out properly, like on a controller. The IR is very strong, allowing the remote to work even when not pointed at the console (within reason, of course.)
Bottom line: if you're looking for a mercies remote for Blu-ray, DVD, Media Player, streaming apps, Plex, or just navigating the Xbox menus, this is an excellent option. The price is a tiny bit higher than I'd like, but not having to buy batteries again balances it out a bit. Five stars.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 21, 2025Style: SOLIS Media RemoteVerified PurchaseExcellent option that worked with my Xbox Series X right out of the box.
I've run through many different remotes for my Xbox, but they either didn't last long or had other issues. I decided to try this one and was immediately impressed by the build quality, especially for the price. The buttons are large, crisp, and responsive, and they seem far more durable that the previous remotes I've tried (with soft touch buttons). The buttons light up when the remote is picked up and are very clear in whatever lighting conditions you're using it in.
The only issue I have is the video controls at the bottom of the remote. They work perfectly and are bright and responsive, but their placement sometimes makes it challenging to operate the video controls with one hand. I did not take any stars off because this is a smaller remote, and fitting the large, tactile buttons on this form factor was a design challenge. Overall, the size of the remote and the buttons are excellent.
If you're looking for a smaller remote with full functionality for your Xbox, then I highly recommend this one. I will edit my review in the future if durability becomes an issue.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 27, 2025Style: Media RemoteVerified PurchaseAh, the classic tale of "shoulda, woulda, coulda" and the perils of skipping those crucial reviews. I, too, have been a victim of this particular brand of tech-related disappointment. It seems I've joined the ranks of those who fell prey to the allure of this Xbox remote, only to discover its infrared limitations.
Let's cut to the chase: this remote is a perfectly functional piece of equipment. It does what it says on the box, providing a comfortable and convenient way to navigate your Xbox. The buttons are responsive, the layout is intuitive, and it feels sturdy in the hand. If you're looking for a basic, reliable remote for your Xbox, this will certainly do the job.
However, and this is a big "however," the reliance on infrared technology is a major drawback. In the age of Bluetooth and wireless connectivity, needing a clear line of sight to your Xbox feels downright archaic. It's like being transported back to the days of clunky VCR remotes and meticulously aimed signals.
Imagine this: you're snuggled up on the couch, blanket draped just so, ready to binge-watch your favorite show. You reach for the remote, only to realize that your strategically placed throw pillow is now obstructing the infrared signal. Cue a frantic readjustment of pillows, blankets, and possibly your entire living room furniture arrangement.
If this remote had been Bluetooth-enabled, it would have been an absolute game-changer. The freedom to control your Xbox from any angle, without worrying about line of sight, would have elevated this product from "good" to "exceptional."
So, while I can't fault the remote's functionality, I can't help but feel a pang of regret for not heeding the warnings of those who came before me. If you're okay with the limitations of infrared, this remote is a solid choice. But if you crave the freedom of wireless control, you might want to look elsewhere. Lesson learned: always read the reviews, folks. Your throw pillows will thank you.

But most of the time I use my smart TV apps anyways. But it's a good one. Nice construction. Mine has a cool raised bump Xbox logo. I'd recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ya viene preconfigurado no he tenido ni que vincularlo

5.0 out of 5 stars Hervorragend danke USB-C und Solarzelle
Style: SOLIS Media RemoteVerified PurchaseFernbedienung klappt hervorragend.

5.0 out of 5 stars El mejor mando multimedia costo-beneficio
