As Jay talked about in his update , we continue to focus on becoming the place you and your IT peers can come to get your job done quickly and keep up with an increasingly complex technology landscape. We believe in making IT easy and fun as we build the destination everyone in IT can rely on every day. To do so, we’re expanding on what we do best, creating an environment that facilitates discussions that lead to credible answers and insights for millions of IT pros every month. With an overwhelming amount of information available, it can be difficult to find the content you’re looking for. So we’re focusing on improving the four intents you’ve told us are core to doing your job: connecting with the right people, learning new IT skills, researching products and services to buy, and managing your complex IT stack.
Connect with the right people
Spiceworks connects IT pros with answers and insights from people who’ve been there before. We’ve added more IT news and relevant tech stories to keep you up-to-date on the latest industry trends and make it easier for you to discuss these trends with your peers.
Learn new IT skills
Through our new Learn initiative , we aim to provide you quality content organized by learning categories like networking and cloud. We’ve already begun to take the first steps with the Learn beta and you can expect additional components in the next few months like the ability to view your progress through content sections.
Research products and services to buy
Our product reviews are designed to make it easier to make the right purchase with more complete product descriptions and peer commentary. We are working in the next few months to expand our reviews to make it easier for you to compare products and find related products and accessories.
Manage your complex IT stack
Our existing apps and new, easy-to-use tools are core to our history, designed to reduce your time to value and improve your ability to get things done quickly. We’re working to expand our cloud functionality with new features, such as deeper hardware inventory and better multi-OS management. We’re also integrating our tools together to bring you an IT management platform in the cloud, while continuing to invest in our on-premise apps.
Get information faster
As we evolve Spiceworks to become the destination you rely on, we’re also updating the experience to get you what you need faster and refreshing the overall feel of the site. Those paying close attention have likely noticed we’ve significantly improved page load times and updated page layouts to get you information more quickly. Today, you’ll see changes like an updated logo and a new look on www.spiceworks.com . Want more details about these changes? Check out Diana and Matt’s blog post! Find the old logo somewhere? Let us know and you can get a new badge !
We will continue to evolve the Spiceworks experience over the next few months so expect to see updates to our site navigation and topic recommendations, making it easier to quickly find relevant information and the answers you need. You’ll also see refreshed badges, upgraded colors, and more. You’ll even see the updated logo in our on premise apps.
While you can expect a steady stream of updates in the coming weeks and months, we’d love to hear from you as we go through this evolution. What’s working? What could use another look?
