So about a month ago we hired on a new guy for our desktop support position after @justinthompson2 abandoned us.

Young guy, excited for an office job, still going to college, but today I have my suspicions that he might be a spy. Perhaps a Russian sleeper agent, or a North Korean hacker. Either way, I am very concerned.

Exhibit A:

It was just sitting on his desk this morning. So brazen… He didn’t even try to hide it.

Exhibit B: He won’t show me his birth certificate.

Why not? No clue, but he is obviosly hiding something.

Exhibit C: He wants a standing desk.

Everyone knows Americans want to sit down whenever possible. This lack of laziness, is as un-American as they come.

I will keep you posted on his activities. I don’t think he has infiltrated the community yet, so for now this is a safe place to communicate.

He is either a Spy or a millennial. There is little difference between the two. They both want to see the government burn.

This is my current fav thread on spiceworks.

Eat turkey bacon in front of him and mumble something that says “Damn this is better than real bacon, don’t you think?!” If he agrees, he is indeed a spy.

If you haven’t mentioned anything yet, you could really have some FUN with the ‘Hacking’ book thing. Especially if you can get HR to be complicit in the scheme.

“Kotlx 2.0? Could you come in here for a quick meeting? We’d like to have a word… You see, we have some…concerns.”

Do you catch him peeking around corners? Does he watch over your shoulder when you are typing? Does he go to lunch alone? Does he eat weird smelling/looking food? Does he speak with a foreign accent?

If the answer to any of these questions is yes then he could definitely be a spy.

Have you tried to make him mad to see if his accent changes? My wife is originally from New York and when she gets mad (or drunk) her New York accent really comes out.

So you can either get him drunk or piss him off to see if he tips his hand.

Aren’t you spying on him too ;)?

  1. Kotlx 2.0 doesn’t exist. THERE IS ONLY ONE KOTLX.

  2. I had a standing desk there. Does that make me a spy?

  3. He’ll need to know some programming to properly spy hackmode. Good luck containing that

Get auditing in place yesterday, in case he tries any funny business. Also, you should offer @justinthompson2 a counter-offer to come back.

Pretty suspicious if you ask me but as long as he doesn’t own/wear a lot of hoodies, you might be safe.

If he joins the community, his name must be Koltx 2.0.

LMAO!! Too funny. Great share.

(I love my standing desk)

I am not sure I could do that… Too much of a sacrifice.

Too many answers were yes…

Next time he leaves his computer unlocked I will try to get more info. I have to be subtle though, I don’t want him to know I am on to him.

Oh God. I think he is both!

Kotlx 2.0 is actually Kotlx in disguise. He just says he’s in college so he has time to go work his other job.

That book is from 2008.

Gotta start somewhere, I guess.

I have never seen them in a room together. This is plausible.

Sounds like a Commie alright.

And you tagged him. He’s on to you.
