I updated Network Monitor from version 1.0 to 1.2. It wouldn’t upgrade so I uninstalled and reinstalled. I now have a conflict between Network Monitor and ManageEngine Desktop Central which runs on the same VM.

It was working before I updated, and I recall having to make a settings change to get it to work, originally, but can’t recall what settings to change.

Can you point me to the solution?

Do you have to change the port that is runs on?

Why wouldnt you just spin up a new Win7 vm for it? It would most likely help it run better as well.

{"@type":"Person
[{"@type":"Answer

All Desktop Central ports are listed here:

If you use the default Network Monitor port of 8080, that shouldn’t conflict. Did you change it, by chance? Or did you change any of the Desktop Central default ports?

The current download and newest Network Monitor was just released (I got a notification email of this yesterday) and is v1.2.193. It is a small download and stub installer that will download components from the internet instead of a 200MB download like the previous v1.2.191.

I had some problems installing it at first and had to go through an uninstall, few reboots, deleted C:\\Program Files\\Spiceworks\\Network Monitor manually and reinstalled and I got it working for me.

A post I came across after I did all that was this, that might also help you out, that indicates some issues with upgrading between versions and a link to a powershell script that should also help. You might consider rebooting after uninstalling as well:
