Hello, I have over 10 years experience in Java Enterprise. Recently I am interested in DevOps. I’m thinking whether it would be reasonable to change my career (over 10 years Experience in Java).
Have anyone of you worked many years as developer and changed the Job to DevOps?
How far have you used the experience of the development?

You are already there. You’re a Dev. DevOps is a culture not a job title. The focus is People / Processes / Technology. So what do you currently do when you develop an app? Chances are you are already doing some DevOps.

Hello, thanks for the answer!
I’m, currently developing in Java for 10 years and in Devops Field I use: Docker, Git, Jenkins, Sonar and shel scripting, maven.
I like DevOps Subjects much more.
But it’s of course too little for DevOps Engineer.
The question that niggles at the back of my mind is:
“When I learn additional: Ansible, a few Monitoring Tools, Linux Administration (level RHCSA), Python, AWS and Kubernetes than will it be enough in order to earn not less than now?”
I do not know whether it is reasonable with so great experience to switch to the new area. How much experience from Java Enterprise I have I can use as Devops engineer?
