U got at least 1x Win10 Enterprise licenses to clone ? What licenses are the 30 notebooks ?

Why not clonezilla or FOG ??

Are we talking about Windows PCs? Your post doesn’t explicitly say. I am just going to guess that they are.

Are you on a Windows domain? Do you have Windows Servers available? Are you looking for a third party solution?

You should know that in order to be compliant with Windows licensing, you are required to have a volume license for Windows in order to image computers.

As far as first party tools, Microsoft has some great built-in tools for this, including Windows Deployment Services, as well as the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit. You can find all sorts of walkthroughs and YouTube videos for both.

There are other third party tools like Clonezilla and the Fog Project.

i tried clonezila but it doesnt recognise the nvme drive. i searched and found that the problem is with the linux system ( even the latest version). only booting with win-pe helps. haven’t tried fog. i understand that its based on linux so i dont want to spend a lot of time to finish without success.

You can use MDT and WDS to create a image. then you can use PXE to deploy the image to those computers. But for 30 computers, its probably simpler to just use Clonezilla after you create your base “image” I used a NVME to USB adapter to clone once and it was pretty quick.

i didn’t make myself clear. i have enough license for all the units. i finished to prepare the fist laptop with all the stuff needed for the students and now i want to just clone it in one go to all the rest. the licensing i will leave to the end. i used to use clonezila up to now but it doens’t help me anymore as all of them have the same nvme hdd inside.(uefi only).

This is unrelated probably, but I had major cloning problems on Win 10 V 1809 it wasn’t recognizing bootrec and saying access denied. I wasn’t even doing it with PXE too, just clonezilla. It is like it would us the same GUID for each drive and I could not bypass it. I believe it has to to with any versions of Win 10 after 1709.
