Delete a User

Hi, all

I want to delete a user, but can’t figure out how.

We changed our Domain (from @oeg.vic.edu.au to @oeg.edu.au)

So, I tried to change my email address / login in Spiceworks 6.1.01074, but it wouldn’t let me.

Long story short, I now have two users:

readed@oeg.vic.edu.au (my active profile)

readed@oeg.edu.au (I want to delete this one, then get another ‘Administrator’ to try again to change my email address / login)

How do I do this?

Hello,

At first it would always be the best to have your SpiceWorks installation up to date. You mean possibly mean Version 7.1.01074 because it looks like you started your community profile at this point.

But never the less, we are currently in version 7.5.00087, so it would be the best to update at some point (maybe there was a bug about email changing and it has been fixed since then?).

I saw another post that asked this, but it was a few years old, and the person it referenced (Nic at Spiceworks) no longer works at spiceworks.... I just would like to change the email address I have associated with my spiceworks. Nic's page said to email communitymanagers@spiceworks.com with questions...I wasn't sure if that was still relevent. I still have access to old email.

You need to invite your new account like you do any other user, you cannot edit admin email accounts.

You are also on an old unsupported version, I recommend you upgrade, but do so by contacting support as the jump from 6.x to 7.5 is also not a supported upgrade path support@spiceworks.com

it really wasn´t supposed to look like I am angry at you.

I should have made a smiley or at least a grinning face, but I am not angry about helpful posts or in general help.

When I am about to drift into the wrong direction I am very glad if someone says “Stop” and not just “Yeah, just go for it!”.

And at the end you are just here in this topic to help, just like me, so there is no need to be angry at someone, really.
