Hi,

You can write to community@spiceworks.com to get your account suspended. (Or just tell me in the comments and I can do it for you right now).

Just to be sure you know all the options though:

  • Please note that suspending doesn’t obliterate the account from existence; it only makes it unusable and non-public. Any posts you have made on our community site will still be there. Removing posts also removes all the badges and points people got for helping out, so we try to avoid that, but if you are looking for something specific to be hidden, please let us know, and I would be happy to change your username or remove a specific post that concerns you, etc. (If you decide you need this after your account is suspended, you can write to community@spiceworks.com if you need anything else, since you won’t be able to send private messages anymore.)

  • If instead you are looking for “the right to be forgotten” and complete anonymization under GDPR or another privacy law, then you will need to visit https://dsar.swzd.com and make that specific legal request there. (This is something we can’t undo, so be certain.)

  • If you are looking for a Spiceworks Helpdesk account deletion, please write to support@spiceworks.com and make sure you include that information in the title. (Also note that suspending your community account will make your helpdesk account unusable. If this causes a problem for you, write to community@spiceworks.com and we can undo it.)

Lastly, if you rethink your request and haven’t asked for the right to be forgotten, to get your account back, just ask at community@spiceworks.com. We can help you with controlling email or notifications if that is what prompted this, and if you have other concerns, we’re always happy to find a way to address them if possible.

Suzanne
