What is the correct way to activate RSLogix 500 on a VM? I have read that i Need to install FTA Server on the host and FTA Client on the VM? But, when I search for these I can’t seem to find them.

Factory Talk Activation Manager is the program you are looking for. You will install this on both the internal server and the client. You will then check out all of the the licenses from the Rockwell servers. You will then point the clients to this internal server to use the licenses when you fire up the program. You can also borrow the licenses to the client if you do not have network access to the internal server.

Factory Talk Activation Manager is installed on the client. It was part of the RSLogix 500 install.

By ‘Internal Server’ do you mean the Virtual Host Computer?

No this will be a server running independently from the virtual host and the VM that you installed Studio 5000, If you are not going to host the licenses internally then you will check out the licenses from the Rockwell server on the VM.
