i have some users who often come and work on my company laptops , i want to give them limited authorization so that they can select the wifi and stick the wifi password in ?? i have an access point with 2 different types of network.

can this be done through a Group policy ??

When you say you have an AP with two different networks, do you mean two different SSIDs or different security protocols?

2 DIFFERENT SSIDs , the issue is that if i log in as an admin on those pcs or laptop i can change the wifi password but not as a normal user , i want to give the normal user enough rights to change the password for the wifi as the password changes every 2 weeks on AP

What rights do the user accounts have on the machines?

What security protocol are you using for the SSIDs? WPA2-PSK? WEP?

Why are you changing the password every two weeks??? This seems wrong.

This way you change it within the Group Policy and they should automatically connect

Like Nelson9480 said, what type of authentication are you using on your APs? What brand and type of AP is it?

If it is a local database or static pre-shared key on the AP itself, there is pretty much no way. If you are using RADIUS and AD authentication, users should already be able to change their passwords.

Edit: Ok, the third time I’ve looked over your post, I think you want to change the WLAN profile on the client. Correct?

USING WPA2 , we have to change password for wifi every 2 weeks to restrict public access as some public users bring there own devices .

Can you explain the use of the two SSIDs? I assume one is public - for those users who bring their own devices - and the other is private - for your own computers. Is this correct?

Are they on separate VLANs?
