I am having the same difficulty but my environment is in HyperV, I am with this script trying to backup some vm’s.

Did you verify that the Find-VBRHvEntity command is actually returning the server entities?

The error message is pretty clear. You call Start-VBRZip ad use the parameter ‘Entity’. The value pass is null. You need to rovide a valid value for the parameter.

It looks as if all of your variables have a space character between the $ and the variable name. Is this really how your script is written?

Change this:

$ ZIPSession = Start-VBRZip -Entity $ VM -Folder $ Directory -Compression $ CompressionLevel ...

to this:

$ZIPSession = Start-VBRZip -Entity $VM -Folder $Directory -Compression $CompressionLevel ...

And likewise throughout the script.

That looks more like a formatting issue when the code was pasted. If the code actually had all of those unnecessary spaces, Powershell would have thrown different errors.

based on your error message, you’re not able to get the $VM variable the correct value. Try hard-pasting in some of your VM names for where the $VM variable is used, my guess is that you should only use the computer name, or the IP and not both

here is where your error is happening

I would imagine it has to do with your VMNames variable before its foreach iteration.
