Help with script please

I wrote a script to parse text from an array, saving pieces as folders/files. I now need to take that array and save it as a file, allowing me to store this file as a variable. I need to be able to run this script on any file I throw at it. Thanks!

Can you share your script?

$array | out-file "c:\script.txt"

^ this would create a file out of the array.

What I am doing is pulling a part of the object, sorting it (because names come up more than once) as unique, and saving it as a dir. I have more of the script that creates files and compresses everything lastly. For now, I just want to be able to perform this on another text file, containing similar material.

I’m rather confused what you need. You did not include anything about a textfile in what you posted.

I just need to be able to run my script on any file. I need to be able to store any file as a variable and run the script on that variable/file. As it stands, I have to copy the file into my script, which is an option. I have tried multiple suggestions I found, though none seem to be working,

I am not following what you mean when you say ‘run on any file’

?? you mean the file path?

What your script seems to do is read in a list or something, when checks if in that last there are paths, it tests if the path exists, and if not it will create a new folder.

So I’m not sure where a file comes into play?

Where is $List defined?
