I have an AD environment.
DNS is perfect (according to DCDIAG!!)
We have a share that is HOME$
Everyone has permission

We connect via Sophos VPN
I can access the share via \\ipaddress\\home$ just fine
i can resolve the FQDN with a ping (even added it into hosts for troubleshooting)
we cant access the share \\fqdn\\home$ - No permission - did I mention everyone has permission?

So i added another share to the folder - Documents
via VPN we can now access \\fqdn\\Documents

It seems we are unable to access hidden shares via VPN.

Client OS - Windows 10 - Fully patched
Server OS - Server 2022 DC - Fully patched.

Any ideas folks?

{"@type":"Person
[{"@type":"Answer

DCDIAG doesn’t actually flag DNS being misconfigured in many cases. I wrote up a post for DNS config so I don’t have to always retype it
