I changed ISP.  I broke a page on our website.

Hello,

I am a very much a novice here at web management. I changed ISP recently. Got everything all setup and running as far as mail and our other services. I missed our customer portal that they use for tracking where their shipments are.
The main website has no issues.
I am trying to figure out what I broke during the service change.

So you host the portal in house? Do you have an A record that points to a certain IP address for hostname resolution?

Without you giving us details, it’s impossible to say or even point you in the right direction.

And an ISP change usually does not affect anything really, unless it’s bound to your WAN IP and you’ll most likely get a new one.

Is that website hosted in house?

Thank you for your responses… sorry about the lack of info, I had a hard time figuring out where to start with this issue. Just to answer the question we do host the portal in house. The website is hosted offsite. So on our website we have a link that takes customers to the in house portal.

It ended up being a cert issue. Got that part fixed but… it turned out while spinning the wheels on the problem I didn’t check it from an internet source from outside the company.

It might now however, bring up another problem that I need to contend with and figure out why the link won’t open up when someone tries view it from within the company.

Take a look at your domain DNS records. My thought is that your WAN IP address has changed and you need to update DNS to reflect that.

If it’s a CMS, the config file may refer to the wrong domain. Or, there may be absolute links on the site.
