I am sure management will solve the issue the way most management does by promoting one or both of them. J/K, I hope.

Make sure you document what you do and if you are using a ticket system make sure it is marking you as resolving the issues.

How many of these meetings have there been? Because more than a couple indicates these meetings aren’t as serious as they might appear.

Just kidding, don’t ever dose a co-worker or anyone for that matter. While it may be fun for a while it tends to lead to jail time.

Do your job. If you want to complain document first for backup. Be ready not to be supported by management and consider if it’s really a fight you are willing to take on if that happens.

Oddly, in the pic the annoyed guy on the left isn’t getting anything done while the one on the right is on the phone, has notes on a board, seems to have a worked in workspace… Paper airplane flip flop guy seems to be the only one working.

Many years ago, I complained about being given another large task stating that there were others who were not doing much and why are they not doing it. My Boss said, “With you, I know the job will eventually be done despite the fact that you are overloaded, but the others are unlikely to succeed”. In some ways this was a compliment? However, when pay rise time comes you are in a position to ask for a bigger raise quoting the examples of what you do compared to others.

YOU shouldn’t do anything. Unless you are their boss, all you need to worry about is you. Is it fair you are doing the majority of the work? Of course not. But unless you also work for the HR department, your job is to do YOUR job…

Stop letting it bother you. I worked with a dude like this for 3 years. He left a few weeks ago and I realised how much I used to let it get to me and ruin my time in the office.

This is good advice. I would also focus on doing the best job you can with the resources (mostly time) available to you. I would imagine that you have some sort of tracking in your ticketing system. If there is a disparity in the number of tickets you complete compared to them, but work is not getting done, don’t let it bother you too much.

You are already putting in more and better work than they are, and that seems to be known by management. If someone from management is wondering why work isn’t being done, you can just point to the tickets and they should see the results pretty easily. Don’t kill yourself trying to “make up” for their lack of ambition. Worry about the best thing for your career and do the best job you possibly can.

Don’t we all? Keep running circles around them. When it comes to review time ensure you point out all of the work you have done over the year.

Most importantly never discuss this lazy employee with anyone but us.

It could be they don’t like their job and are only putting in enough work not to lose their job. I will admit I did this at one job that I very much disliked but at least I was actively looking for other work. No reason to linger around…

When I am asked to fix something after another team member failed, I just remember the user and how appreciative they are that the problem is resolved.
