I’ve been working for the same medium enteprise for 3 years now. I work as an IT Technician (Generalist) who do a bit of everything from end user support to network and system administration.

We support ~400 users in ~20 locations. I’ve notice that my (2) co-workers are extremely lazy.

I’m the only one doing network/system administration. Coworkers job is only enduser support, yet I do more tickets than they do. Many times, I have to do jobs they have already done because they made errors (they really don’t know much in IT and aren’t interested in learning).

I’m an easy going co-worker, so I’ve been alright with the them during theses 3 years. We share the same desk and I have to admit it’s sometimes frustrating to be working my ass off when they are just doing nothing the whole day right next to me. I never said anything about that to them (but our boss do every 6 months a very serious meeting about that).

Now, don’t get me wrong I enjoy doing this job, but my co-workers are not putting in any effort. They don’t seem to care about our pending tickets. They watch videogames livestream or read the news instead of working and they just seem very lazy overall. What should I do in this situation?

Tl:dr: Enjoy work, hate my lazy co-workers who are putting 0% into their work usually ending up in me doing more work than usual.

{"@type":"Person
{"@type":"Answer

Stop letting it bother you. I worked with a dude like this for 3 years. He left a few weeks ago and I realised how much I used to let it get to me and ruin my time in the office.

Better to try ignore it if you can.

{"@type":"Person
[{"@type":"Answer

I am sure management will solve the issue the way most management does by promoting one or both of them. J/K, I hope.

Make sure you document what you do and if you are using a ticket system make sure it is marking you as resolving the issues.

{"@type":"Person
l0st0ne
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/l0st0ne"}},{"@type":"Answer
