Is unitrends still in Business?

I have an urgent need to replace an RC-714s and I have emailed my sales rep (at least I still think he is my rep) but haven’t had a response. I’ve also called the sales number listed on their website but it was full and not accepting any new messages. I’ve also noticed that the Unitrends site is pretty stale and there is hardly any activity here.

I know they were bought out a couple of years ago but if they are no longer in business then I guess I will need to give my business to another company.

To be fair, I noticed the reps on here went quiet, if not completely silent. I wasn’t aware of the buyout, but I thought they was large enough to still be around

Let’s see if we can get hold of any of them, I know Katie was very active here at one point, but may even have moved on now - I don’t know.

Thanks Rod. I thought Katie moved on some time ago so I didn’t bother tagging her. Unitrends was bought out by Kaseya around two years ago I think.

Katie hasn’t replied in 2 years, I’ve just looked - she was my main contact on here.

If I may though, recommend Veeam and Altaro VM Backup as alternatives if you need to go that route.

You are also correct on Katie’s new role

I’ve sort of been sniffing around Veeam a little but time is really of the essence for me since I just can’t be without solid backups. I’ve been a unitrends customer for decade now and for me it has been rock solid but I do need to replace my existing RC-714s due to a hardware failure.

I can confirm both products I’ve mentioned are also solid.

I have used both and would also recommend both.

Veeam has an NFR license for spiceheads you could download, setup at home in a lab and demo, if you are pleased with it and it does what you need, it wont be too difficult to migrate your backup as you will have already gained hands-on.

Hey! The Unitrends team no longer has Green Guy accounts since, well, quite honestly, they are costly, and with some changes around here in roles & personal lives, we no longer had a person we could dedicate to Spiceworks. I am not allowed to post publicly about Unitrends in any more capacity than to state the above from this civilian account, but, Unitrends is still thriving and offers solutions for IT Pros of all sizes.

As a continuing user of Unitrends, yes they are still in business and very solid and a great company.

Like any company that gets bought, there have been some growing pains.

However, support has been responsive as always.

Try opening a support ticket for assitance.

I just started using Unitrends again last month after moving to a new company. I actually found the entire experience was more streamlined and improved this time around. The product development has continued and I feel like the product has improved.

Unitrends is still expensive relative to other options, but I feel like we get what we pay for in this case.
