How are you trying to access it, CIFS/NFS over HTTP(s)

Are you talking about your laptop being on Wi-Fi or the Qnap itself?

{"@type":"Person
Rod-IT
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/Rod-IT"}},{"@type":"Answer

That’s a pretty open ended issue. Would need some information about your network.

DNS issue? No resolution of the name for your QNAP box on your WiFi but works on your LAN?

Is your WiFi coming from the same device as the LAN? Do you have something in your router that is set to make WiFi into a ‘guest’ policy to prevent exactly what you’re doing? (Client isolation?)

Is your WiFi simply isolated from your LAN entirely? Can you get to anything other than your QNAP box?

{"@type":"Person
thelanranger
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/thelanranger"}},{"@type":"Answer

I cannot enter my qnap storage using my Wi-Fi connection

That’s probably because your QNAP NAS don’t have WLAN NICs neither inserted nor attached. That’s the case also for my QNAP NAS models. None has WLAN. That’s the default although some support inserting a WLAN NIC and most support attaching a WLAN adapter.

As you did not provide any further context, e.g. not your network design, we may only speculate about your situation. E.g. some of my routers were using same IP network for wireless as well as for wired. I prefer to separate them and so I configured my network. In consequence, I need corresponding routing entries so that all network devices can communicate with each other and use WLAN router for accessing the devices at the other network.

I refer new Spiceheads to the field guides, emphasizing the one on pos(t)ing good questions, including the helpful references found at the bottom of its web page (and the one of getting started ). Your link is one of those three references.

{"@type":"Person
scheff1
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/scheff1"}},{"@type":"Answer

Any suggestion?

A simple network diagram or description would help provide you with a bit of advice and would be the first suggestion.

Generally, SANs and NASes https://www.hyper-v.io/san-nas-public-cloud-lets-pick-secondary-storage/ are used to store information and backups. They are supposed to be accessed via Ethernet for best performance.

{"@type":"Person
supaplex-starwind
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/supaplex-starwind"}}]}}
