Are you just wanting to change their UPN to an alternate UPN? Or are you migrating them to a new domain? Or did you rename the domain so now you want to change their UPN?

The answer to some of these questions will definitely have an impact on what advice is given.

It appears that I was told incorrectly at the beginning as to what needs to be done.

ok should be easy enough, look at the sample I posted .

What have you tried? Where are you stuck?

I tried using:

set-aduser $USER -replace @{company = “New Company Name”}

but got an error “Cannot validate argument on parameter “Identity”. The argument is null. Provide a valid value for the argument, and then try running the command again.”

I also tried:

$Users = Get-ADUser -SearchBase ‘DC=DomainDnsZones,DC=pulsky,DC=pkgunltd,DC=comp’ -Filter *
$users|Foreach {
Set-ADUser -company “New Company Name”
}

this did not produce an error, but the Company Name was not changed in Active Directory.

maybe try like so
I can not check your searchbase for you, make sure the OU / Distinguished Name is right, it looks off

should be more like so , e.g.

OU=TESTOU,DC=ad,DC=dersys,DC=com

$Users = Get-ADUser -Filter * -SearchBase 'DC=DomainDnsZones,DC=pulsky,DC=pkgunltd,DC=comp'

    Set-ADUser $user -company "New Company Name"

That did not appear to work.

I was trying to find something similar through youtube videos in an effort to get this figured out and found something that appears somewhat close, even though it didn’t quite work. Using the PowerShell ISE, I was able to get a positive result from the first line, but the second line gave an error of “Unexpected token ‘SamAccountName’ in expression or statement”.

Get-ADUser -Filter {company -notlike "New Company Name"}
     %{Set-ADUser $_ -company "$($_ SamAccountName) @New Company Name"}

It most likely did not not work as your ‘-searchase’ / OU was wrong.

e.g.

Get-ADUser -Filter {company -notlike "New Company Name"} |
foreach-object{

The above might have worked but the syntax is wrong; it’s missing the pipe between } and %.

That was my error when copying over what I used. It did include the pipe.
