Speak project.. HELP please

Hello…

I have one project in mind. I would like to make a PowerShell script that would look in Internet Explorer elements in one page and look for new element 2153

When new element is created It would start these command:

Add-Type -AssemblyName System.speech

$speak = New-Object System.Speech.Synthesis.SpeechSynthesizer

$speak.Speak( 'Go to Work ’ )

Do you have any ideas on how to start? For any help would be useful.

How to start? I’d start by using the Google and post your code here (even how cr*ppy you think it may be) so we can have a look at it. Break up the actions in pieces and start coding. Good luck.

Are you needing to watch a value directly through Internet Explorer, or are you able to use Invoke-RestMethod or Invoke-WebRequest?

I’d start by dividing up the different components of the process. Namely the one that checks the value you are looking for on an HTML page, and the other that speaks. Neither is too terrible to implement though.

Brad;s post is on the money. You first need to know how you are going to get a web page (and which web page).

If you have a specific page, you can use Invoke-WebRequest to load the page into a variable then go from there.

Can you explain what you are trying to achieve? If you want something to happen at a specific time, why not use the task scheduler to wake up at some time and then do the popup?

It goes like these, we have a TV connected to pc and in browser open local site where there are listed all offenses (SIEM) and its auto refreshing.

Now we must look at the TV to see if there is something new open and if you’re working on a case you can forget to look (big problem when you’re alone) and we have SLA to keep up. We have alerts on email but it would be easier if I had audio cue, in the end it could be only a beep to get my attention

One way is to use an Outlook rule. Have it play a wav file whenever a mail comes in that you want to deal with it.

So write a script to get the outlook mailbox, and look at the mails. You could parse the emails and see if anything is important, and devise some cook text to audio files.
