Hi,

I have a question with regards to Windows Server 2016 Windows Defender. Is there something I’m missing or I have to do so spiceworks can detect Windows AV on all the devices with Server OS 2016. Basically I would like to “fix” the AntiVirus:none-detected.

Thanks.

{"@type":"Person
[{"@type":"Answer

We never added support for Windows Server 2016. Another issue is that the Server class of Windows does AV differently from the Workstations, and so AV on servers has to be handled differently. Thus, the unfortunate answer to your question is you won’t be able to do this as far as I know.

So there’s no other way to have the VMs with Server OS 2016 reporting positively except for having a different AV?

Unless this is being worked on in a future update?

I’m not even sure a different AV is going to show up for sure. It would depend on whether or not we already detect that AV on Windows Server and if Windows Server 2016 puts it in the same place. And no, this is not currently being worked on for Inventory.
