Like I said. I opened the case, and inside, there was a rubber chicken. This was before I had a camera phone (around 1999 or so), so there’s no record. But there was a rubber chicken inside the giant tower box.

Like I said. I opened the case, and inside, there was a rubber chicken. This was before I had a camera phone (around 1999 or so), so there’s no record. But there was a rubber chicken inside the giant tower box.

Gads…someone else old enough to have worked on Compaq servers. Those were some big boxes for sure plenty of room to hide the body

Found out the wallpaper of a woman wearing a revealing swimsuit was my coworker’s daughter the hard way. We laugh about it now, but dang that was awkward for me.

I mean… this is stuff I would have stereotyped the US South to do.

Reminds me of a service call I did years ago, the GMs wife worked for an advertising company and when they were scheduling a service call I jokingly said “it sounds make, I might have to make a sacrifice to get it working.” When I arrive onsite they have the printer on their board room table, with a candle burning, a plush chicken on top and this big knife.

When I was working at an MSP, I had one client that had literally dozens of…um…personal wellness aids and preparatory solutions…in a cabinet in the closet where they also kept the server, router, and switch. The cabinet was usually closed when I went in there.

Oh the stories I could tell…

One in particular.

I worked for a tech retailer with services from PC, Home Theatre, and appliances. (guess which one.) I was coming back into the store to end my day, and the Assistant Manager asked me to run a refrigerator out to a client where there had been a scheduling mixup. Now, at the time, I was PC only… but I had an MVR, which meant I could drive the truck. The delivery helper was working inventory that night. So, we loaded up the fridge, and drove out about 45 mins to the house… in the middle of cornfields… WAY off the road.

The… client… comes out with a magnifying glass, and finds a tiny defect on the fridge. She refuses delivery. We load it back up, drive back to store.

By the time we got back, she had called the store, reamed the AM, and we ended up loading another fridge, and driving back out.

We return. She almost denies THIS one, because of a mold release line on the plastic of the handle, but I talk her down. We get into the house… and it is FILTHY. I should have denied the delivery at this point. I was too stubborn to.

I open her fridge for haul away… FULL OF EXPIRED FOOD. We just move the old food to the new fridge, then level the fridge, load the old one and get out of dodge.

Get back to store after 11 PM.

THIS DEMON CALLS ME AT MIDNIGHT, ON MY WAY HOME AND ACCUSES ME OF STEALING HER STASH OUT OF HER FRIDGE.

I told her, thats fine, if you want to make that accusation, I would GLADLY meet with the police to accommodate her accusations.

She hangs up with me.

It was years before they talked me into any appliance deliveries again.

I once found a Viagra pill under the copier in a law firms copier room. I was so tempted to walk out and ask loudly if someone had dropped their medication, but common sense got the better of me.
