Hi,

I’m have a couple of (vm) servers running CentOS 6.5 32-bit.
Scan is successful, but apart from IP/MAC I get no additional info.

I have taken the following steps:

  • DNS: NS, A, PTR etc all working fine.
  • SSH: SSH2 with root.
  • SNMP 1 and 3. Verified both with snmpwalk from 3rd server.
  • Same subnet, no issues with routing or firewall.
  • Logs: I’m no linux wizard, but can’t find anything odd.

Have made several scans, changing scan methods, re-installed SW…
I monitor the same servers with op5/Nagios without issues.

Any suggestions?

Might be worth checking this setting: http://community.spiceworks.com/help/Software_Overview#Linux

This might at least help you get some of the software inventoried.

It was already set, no change.
Tried using NMap also.

Will have another go at it tomorrow.

No progress :frowning:

Desperate for help!

I’m out of suggestions. You could try opening a ticket with Spiceworks Support at support@spiceworks.com – maybe they can help.

Maybe SSH as root is failing. SOunds like it is not getting in. See if Putty from the SW server using root can get right into the boxes.

Login with root is working fine, access log is happy.
I double-checked SSH v. 2 also.

Started up a pfSense(FreeBSD) vm for a test scan.
Result was better, but still missing Software tab.

I’ll take the advise and open a ticket now.
Thanks for your input!
