Hi all, so a little confusion here.
I have an existing SSO PSC.
I want to Join a demo of VCSA67 to it.
when I choose:
PSC: vcenterserver.inmydomain.com
HTTPS;443
SSO domain name: vmware.local
SSO user: administrator (this should be “Administrator” but vmware pre-populated the field with LowerCase) Unable to change this.
SSO pw: xyzpassword
This fails because it complains about the password not being complex enough??
I am joining an EXISTING PSC…the password is already SET IN STONE. I know this works because i can Iog into it with the credentials provided.
So at this point, I am stonewalled.
Seems the ONLY way to get this running is by creating yet another stupid .local domain.
Pointers??

Is your PSC upgraded to 6.7 and is your password still valid. The PSC password is set to expire within 1 year by default.
reset expiration of root password
invalid characters in password

Ohhh…so I would have to upgrade my PSC to 6.7 before joining??
If so, that would be the issue.
Well, I will not be doing that, so I will go ahead and install with *.local.
Thanks

Windows install or appliance, the latter should be used and the installer can do a complete migration for you
I am trying the appliance. Older 6.0 vcenter is on windows. Thought the appliance might be something to look at.

The appliance has all the PSC built in, and will do a complete migration from your old to the new, however it’s not something you should demo in a live environment.
I would try it outside of this, either by way of a clean install, or simply plan in the migration
I just want to Demo this a see how it behaves.
Is HTML5 ready for prime time?? Previous try’s I found it was not.
I will do a Fresh, Clean install if I decide to commit.
No Migration…
Tks
The PSC should always be the most up to date object in the heirarchy, followed by vCenter/update manager, then Hosts, then vmtools, then vm hardware.
If you have the opportunity to move your hosts to the 6.7 appliance, you should consider doing embedded psc/vcenter. It is now supported for enhanced linked mode environments, but only in new deployments.

Is it ready depend son what features you use, it’s been available since 6.0U2 I believe, certainly in U3 and 6.5 - the flash version is still there too
I dont believe you can demo this with your live system - possibly with linked VCs but this then gets a little more in-depth, and may complicate things.
I would either create a lab and play with it there or see if any of the VMware labs have this to play with
