LAN and WAN bandwidth requirements

The following tables summarize common bandwidth requirements.

Table 19 describes LAN bandwidth requirements for several codecs.
Table 20 and Table 21 describe WAN bandwidth requirements for several codecs.

Because there are so many variables, such as payload size and actual transmission rates, all values are approximate.

All values in Table 21 assume a 60ms voice sample.

Table 21 highlights the fact that WAN bandwidth requirements vary significantly with different protocols. The table does not take into account VAD and header compression, but they can significantly complicate bandwidth requirements.
