DJI has launched its newest enterprise flagship drone: the Matrice 400, setting a new benchmark for high-performance aerial missions. Designed for professionals who need robust performance in challenging environments, the M400 builds on the legacy of its predecessor, the Matrice 350 RTK, with a major leap in endurance, obstacle sensing, and payload flexibility.
This new powerhouse arrives with a 59-minute flight time, up to 6 kg payload capacity, and an advanced LiDAR + mmWave radar obstacle sensing system that can spot everything from high-voltage power lines to mountain cliffs — even at night.
Next-level endurance for critical missions
One of the biggest upgrades in the Matrice 400 is its flight time. While the Matrice 350 RTK topped out at around 55 minutes in ideal conditions, the M400 can cruise for nearly an hour in forward flight and 53 minutes while hovering, even with payloads onboard.
This extended endurance is a game changer for industries relying on drones for search and rescue, firefighting, mapping, and infrastructure inspections, where every extra minute counts. It also boasts an IP55 rating, making it resistant to dust and water and operable in extreme temperatures from -4°F to 122°F.
And it’s not just for land-based missions. The Matrice 400 is ready for maritime tasks too. It can safely take off from stationary boats and even land on moving ships, making it ideal for offshore wind turbine inspections and coastal surveillance.
Smarter sensing: Obstacle avoidance like never before
DJI has raised the bar with its all-new obstacle avoidance system. Featuring a combination of LiDAR, mmWave radar, and low-light fisheye cameras, the Matrice 400 can detect and avoid obstacles at speeds up to 25 m/s.
Whether navigating glass skyscrapers, dense forests, or mountain ranges in low light, the drone maintains exceptional positional awareness. Its new fusion positioning system enables stable hovering near tricky surfaces and ensures it can return home, even if the return point wasn’t updated mid-flight.
Go further with stronger video transmission
The drone includes DJI’s O4 Enterprise Enhanced Video Transmission, which delivers crystal-clear visuals up to 40 km away using a ten-antenna array and a high-gain phased array antenna on the controller.
Need to cover even more ground? DJI has you covered. With Airborne Relay Video Transmission, you can use a second Matrice 400 to relay the signal, drastically extending range and coverage — perfect for operations in rugged terrains like valleys and canyons. The drone also supports sub-2GHz bands and dual cellular dongles, enabling seamless signal switching even in congested or remote areas.
Intelligence in the sky
The M400 is smarter than ever with new features to simplify complex missions. Its Smart Detection mode can identify people, vehicles, and boats, even in thermal view. Meanwhile, AR Projections on the controller make navigating easier by labeling roads, buildings, and even power lines in real-time.
Flying in uneven terrain? The new Real-Time Terrain Follow function keeps a consistent altitude, ensuring stable and safe operations across hills, ridges, and urban landscapes.

The Matrice 400’s multi-payload support allows for a maximum of seven payloads with four external ports and a load capacity of 6 kg. You can mix and match a wide range of DJI and third-party gear to customize the drone for each mission.

Privacy first, always
For enterprise users worried about data security, DJI includes Local Data Mode, which disables all internet communication from the DJI Pilot 2 app. No flight logs, photos, or videos are synced to DJI’s servers unless you choose to. DJI’s compliance with FIPS 140-2, ISO 27001, and ISO 27701 adds a strong layer of reassurance, and independent security audits have backed its platforms since 2017.
To support professional fleets, DJI is also offering DJI Care Enterprise Plus, which covers a wide range of repairs with unlimited replacements under coverage limits. Operators can even replace one battery per year, and support from DJI experts is included. An extra 1-year warranty is also available.
