Before you start

You will need:
- Your Nintendo Switch 2 console
- Your Joy-Con 2 controllers
What to do
- Test the Joy-Con 2 controllers in TV mode, with the console docked.
- Confirm that the dock is connected using a Ultra High Speed HDMI cable.
- The HDMI cable included with the console is an Ultra High Speed HDMI cable.
- If the HDMI cable being used is not an Ultra High Speed HDMI cable, swap it out for a supported HDMI cable.
- Remove the console from the dock, and test the controllers to see if the issue still occurs.
-
The issue only occurs while the console is docked
- Confirm that you're using an "Ultra High Speed" HDMI cable to connect the dock to the TV. If it's not Ultra High Speed, your console won't perform as expected when docked.
- If you're using a different cable than the one that came with the console, it should have printed on the cable that it's "Ultra High Speed."
- The HDMI cable that came with the Nintendo Switch is not "Ultra High Speed" and should not be used with the Nintendo Switch 2 dock.
- Confirm that you're using a powerful enough AC adapter. The Nintendo Switch 2 AC adapter (model NGN-01) or another AC adapter that outputs at least 54W should be used with the Nintendo Switch 2 dock.
- The Nintendo Switch AC adapter can be used when plugged into the Nintendo Switch 2 console directly, but due to to differing power outputs, it can not be used with the Nintendo Switch 2 dock to support TV mode.
