Basically, GitHub’s own docs say that if your school email domain isn’t recognized, the system can block the application automatically, even if the email is real and verified. In those cases, GitHub expects students to upload proof of enrollment or contact GitHub Education Support for a manual review. Here are some links which I found:
So yupp, this isn’t unusual. If you can't figure it out I would recommend just contacting GitHub Education Support. |

Hi everyone,
Hello,

I am a student at Northern Technical University (NTU) in Iraq. I am facing a persistent issue with my GitHub Student Developer Pack application.
The Issue:
Even though I have added and verified my official academic email (user
@stud.ntu.edu.iq) and set it as my Primary email, the application system blocks me with this error: "We require applicants to use a school-issued email address to apply".
Steps I have taken:
I removed my personal Gmail account to ensure only the academic email is present.
I cleared my browser cache and tried using different browsers and incognito mode.
My location is set correctly, and I am applying from the university's region.
It seems like my account is stuck in a rejection loop from a previous attempt. Could a moderator please look into this or reset my application status so I can proceed with my verified email?
Thank you for your help.
