Scattered protests are continuing around LA, prompted by the arrests of more than 100 immigrants by federal agents.  

The White House deployed the National Guard, breaking convention, in response to what it claimed was an insurrection against the US.      

US President Donald Trump has threatened consequences for LA protesters, saying "they spit, we hit".  

The California Governor is sparring with Trump over the deployment of the National Guard, saying it's an "alarming abuse of power".

830 Australians have been recognised in the King's Birthday honours list, including Baz Luhrmann and Catherine Martin for their services to the arts.  

Former prime minister Scott Morrison has also been appointed an AC for his "eminent service" throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.  

Trailblazer for women in business, Wendy McCarthy, says she has been left "awe struck" by the honour.    

Pioneering climate change scientist, Professor Ove Hoegh-Guldberg, says he was "gobsmacked" to be appointed an AC.    

New Zealand's parliament has handed record suspensions to three Māori MPs after they performed a haka last year.

The MPs were protesting a bill that would of have reinterpreted the Treaty of Waitangi between British and Māori.

Māori Party co-leaders Rawiri Waititi and Debbie Ngarewa-Packer were banned from parliament for 21 days.

NZ's youngest MP Hana-Rāwhiti Maipi-Clarke was suspended for seven days.

The Treaty of Waitangi still guides policy and legislation in New Zealand. 

The relationship between US President Donald Trump and former aide Elon Musk has plunged to a new low.

Hours after Mr Trump lamented his break-up with Mr Musk at a press conference, the president took to his social media platform, threatening to cut off government contracts with Mr Musk's companies.

He also said that he "asked" Mr Musk to leave because he was "wearing thin".

West Australian senator Dorinda Cox has defected from the Greens to join Labor in the federal Senate.

A Yamatji-Noongar woman, Senator Cox was the only Indigenous member of the Greens' federal parliamentary team.

Greens senator Sarah Hanson-Young called for her former colleague to quit parliament, saying it would be the "honourable" move.
