NWA; title continues to be recognized by WCW; the NWA continues as a
legal entity following the withdrawal of WCW and holds a tournament
for the NWA World Title in 1995.
Rick Steiner & Scott Steiner defeat Nash & Hall, members of New World Order, on 1997-01-26 in Cedar Rapids, IA but are forced to return the titles the next night by WCW Vice President Eric Bischoff, who is also a member of nWo; The Giant & Lex Luger defeat Nash & Hall on 1997-02-23 in San Francisco, CA but return the titles the next night.
Vacant on 1998-06-04 after Sting and Giant break up; Giant puts the belts on the line, along with Brian Adams as his chosen partner to face Lex Luger and Diamond Dallas Page on 1998-06-04; Page pins Adams and wins the match; however, WCW Chairman of the Board J.J.
