The Haymaker Market in Kent, one of the oldest farmers markets in Northeast Ohio -- and one of the largest -- opens for its 18th season, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 29 on Franklin Avenue between College and Summit streets.

The downtown area will be filled with live music from 10 a.m. to noon, and the market territory will be covered with more than 40 vendors. Among the offerings: locally grown produce, flowers, plants, cheeses, canned preserves, meats, mushrooms, honey, maple syrup, baked goods and ready to eat prepared foods.

For more information about the market or market activities, contact market manager Fritz Seefeldt by phone at 330-678-5748 or through the Haymaker Web site.
