Founded in 2017 in Seattle, WA, Minority Veterans of America (MVA) is a nonpartisan, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to creating community belonging and advancing equity for underrepresented veterans including racial and ethnic minority, LGBTQ+, women, and religious and non-religious minority veterans. <\/p>\n
Together, our community is working to change the narrative of the American veteran and create a veteran community where we all belong and have an opportunity to thrive.<\/p>\n
Minority Veterans of America provides resources, education, and information to community members and community providers, and we help to enact change through our advocacy program. Our movement solves the issue of providing a voice to those that have been systematically and institutionally underrepresented. <\/p>\n

Minority Vets Community Center, opening in February of 2025, serves as a hub for veterans, offering case management, mutual aid, outreach, and various engagement events for our Seattle, WA MVA Flagship Program. The center is a welcoming community space open to all veterans and is designed with minority and underrepresented veterans in mind.

The Emerging Leaders Program invests in developing the next generation of minority veteran leaders as they continue to make an impact in their local communities. The Equity, Inclusion, and Justice Summit is not a conference, it’s an experience. Delving into the intersections of the minority veteran identity and the key issues that impact our world experiences the most, the Summit features lectures, panels, fireside chats, lightning talks and live performances by minority veterans and lead activists, artists, experts, and legislators.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/givebutter.s3.amazonaws.com\/uploads\/frvXQ5KRjoVNzUgH65TsnS9bkyNIHBXapHD69Opy.png\")
Q'mmunity House, the first of its kind, is a safe, affirming, and supportive transitional housing program dedicated to meeting the unique needs of LGBTQ+ veterans in King County, Washington. Every veteran deserves a place to call home and to live authentically with dignity. We go beyond temporary housing, building a supportive community that fosters connection and hope. We create a safe, accessible environment where LGBTQ+ veterans can thrive and access the resources needed to rebuild, grow, and find stable, permanent housing. Our legal and policy advocacy efforts are driven by certainty that effectively supporting our nation’s minority veterans begins with recognition that the heart of the problem lies with social and structural inequalities.
