Robertson, Cipra named to Hewlett-Packard, Football Gazette All-America teams in football

ADA � Seniors Jamal Robertson (Dayton/Stebbins) and J.R. Cipra (Mayfield Heights/Mayfield) were named to the 23rd annual Hewlett-Packard Division III All-America Team for 2000 in voting conducted by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Robertson was a 1st Team selection at running back for the second consecutive season after earning the honor in 1999.

Cipra was a 2nd Team pick as a kicker.

The pair also earned the same honor on the Don Hansen's Football Gazette All-America Team.

Robertson is a two-time 1st Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference pick at running back and was named the Co-Offensive Player of the Year in the OAC this fall. He earned Hewlett-Packard All-America honors as a junior last season and was a preseason All-American by Street & Smith�s magazine this season.

He led the nation in All-Purpose yards with a school-record 2,308 and set an ONU records with 1,664 yards rushing.

Robertson ends his ONU career with an impressive 38 school records (20 regular season, 18 playoff).

He is ONU�s all-time career leader in rushing yards (4,169), all-purpose yards (5,388) and scoring (56 touchdowns, 338 points).

Cipra is a two-time 1st Team All-OAC pick as a kicker and earns his first All-America honor this season.

He ends his career at ONU the holder of 31 school records (17 regular season, 14 playoff), which includes every field goal record and most of the PAT records.

In four years at ONU, Cipra has nailed 19-of-25 field goals, including a 47-yarder, and has made 161 of 173 career extra points. His 218 kicking points and 220 total points overall are records for kickers at ONU.

The #25-ranked Polar Bears (9-3 overall, 8-1 Ohio Athletic Conference) set a school record by rolling up 5,047 yards of total offense and averaged 504.7 yards per game this fall.

Ohio Northern participated in the NCAA III Playoffs for the second consecutive season, beating #16-ranked Millikin (Ill.) 47-21 in the first round before falling to #1-ranked Mount Union in the second round.
