Planet found orbiting giant star
The first discovery of a planet orbiting a giant star is providing insight into the fate of planets during the late life cycles stars, according to a team of astronomers. The host star, iota Draconis, is not a sunlike star, but an old star that has expanded to 13 times the radius of the Sun.
