In late 1999, Sun announced that Java Web Server 2.0 was the last planned release of Java Web Server. On February 7th 2001, Sun announced the End Of Life (EOL) of Java Web Server.

The last date for purchasing Java Web Server was May 11, 2001. This was also the end of the trial version download.
