The prospects of development of economic, trade and regional ties between Russia and Bulgaria were discussed in Sochi by the president of the two countries, Vladimir Putin and G. Pyrvanov.

Serious progress has been made in the trade and economic sphere, and trade turnover has reached $1.4 billion. There are join projects in the energy, machine construction and light industry spheres.

Energy will be the main but not the only component of Russian-Bulgarian economic cooperation, the Russian President said.

The Great Kremlin Palace is the setting for formal occasions. The inauguration ceremony takes place here, as do ceremonies to award state decorations and to accept the credentials of new diplomats and receptions marking important state holidays. The palace was commissioned by Tsar Nicholas I and built by the famous Petersburg architect Konstantin Ton in 1838-1849.
