Officer

Marine officers are more than simply leaders; they are leaders of Marines confident, determined decision makers that command the respect of others. Marine Corps Officers are directly responsible for the welfare and performance of the men and women they command.

Marine officers undergo intense training designed to strengthen both mind and body. As a Marine officer, you'll learn management and leadership skills from what Inc. Magazine calls "one of the finest corporate leadership schools in the world." Bottom line: As a United States Marine Corps Officer, you'll not only understand your capabilities, you'll exceed them.

The Marine Corps Officer program offers a variety of duties, responsibilities and challenges not found in the civilian sector.

All Marine Corps Officer occupations fall into one of three categories:

  • Ground
  • Air
  • Law

Because of the enormous responsibility given to Marine Corps Officers, it is critical that college coursework toward a bachelor's degree is underway or completed before beginning the officer commissioning programs.

There are two officer programs you can follow depending on whether you are in college or already have your degree:

  • Platoon Leaders Class (still in college)
  • Officer Candidates Course (completed college)
