Education

Physical and mental fitness have been long-standing virtues of every Marine. It's one thing to hone the body, but in the process one must hone the mind, for sharp minds make sharp Marines. That's why the Marine Corps wants to make sure you have every opportunity to continue your education. The Marine Corps offers a vast number of programs which sharpen your mental abilities and help advance your career. You'll not only have access to the funds to pay for college, but you'll be able to attend one of hundreds of colleges and universities across the United States.

These are respected institutions where you can pursue an associate's, bachelor's, or master's degree. And, you can do this while you are on active duty, or long after you complete your active duty obligation and return to civilian life.

As a Marine, the majority of your education expenses will be paid for by the federal government. This is true from the moment you enter the Marine Corps until long after your active service has ended. Specifically, there are three main methods of funding, and the use of them depends on your current duty status and ability to succeed in the classroom.
