Enlisted

There are nine steps in the enlisted rank structure. With each step up the rank structure comes increased responsibility. Starting with Private, also known as E-1, you will progress toward Sergeant Major or Master Gunnery Sergeant, both considered E-9. Once you achieve the rank of Corporal you are considered a noncommissioned officer, or NCO, and at the rank of Staff Sergeant you will be a staff noncommisoned officer, or SNCO.
