Strength is more than muscle.Marines believe it is possible to overcome any obstacle, becoming powerful in mind, body, and spirit.

Martial Arts

Every Marine counts a finely tuned body and instinctive warrior skills as valuable tools. Building them begins in recruit training with martial arts training, which is key to the self-discipline, toughness, and confidence Marines need in battle.

The Crucible

In 1996, the Commandant of the Marine Corps, General Charles C. Krulak, directed the development of a final test that would push Recruits to the extent of their will, courage and confidence. The result was the formation of a 54-hour exercise that simulated battle conditions and required Recruits to solve tough challenges by creating action plans and executing them as a team.

Education

Smarter Marines are better Marines. The Corps encourages continuing education for all its warriors, and puts real opportunities in place for every Marine to continue to grow academically and professionally.

A Higher Calling

The Marine Corps is much more than a profession, and every Marine will tell you so. We travel the world and we make a difference, proud to be able to contribute.

A Commitment of Honor

It takes great dedication to become a highly trained U.S. Marine. Succeed and you'll discover strengths you never knew you had. Find a purpose greater than yourself and form bonds with fellow Marines that last a lifetime.
