Marines never stop training, because our missions require us to carry superior skills into any conceivable situation. Urban Warfare Training has become one of the most important pieces of training Marines receive, because so much of our mission has become concentrated in the urban environment. Urban training treats the urban landscape as a special set of obstacles and defenses with their own characteristics, dangers and uses. In carefully constructed "cities" located at Camp Pendleton on the west coast and Camp LeJeune on the east coast, Marines learn how to deal with snipers, use buildings as fortresses, and to gain the high ground.
