Historic 8th and I

The location at the corner of Washington's 8th and I streets is the "Oldest Post in the Corps". Home to the Commandant of the Marine Corps and the Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon, 8th and I is steeped in history.

Martial Arts

The Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon is a vivid display of Marine discipline, but it's hardly the only example. From the time of recruit training, Marines learn martial arts, using it to enhance all aspects of personal discipline and become highly skilled in the practice of hand-to-hand combat.
