Wall-E has been named best picture at the annual Online Film Critics Society awards in the US.

The animation picked up two more trophies for best animated feature and best original screenplay.

The Dark Knight picked up four prizes from the society, including best supporting actor for Golden Globe winner Heath Ledger.

Swedish vampire film Let The Right One In also scooped four, including one for best foreign film.

The film, about a young boy who falls in love with a vampire girl, also got the two breakthrough awards for its director Tomas Alfredson and young star Lina Leandersson.

It will be released in the UK in April.

British movie Slumdog Millionaire continued its award-winning streak, picking up one for editing. Mickey Rourke cemented his position as an Academy Award favourite by winning best actor for The Wrestler.

His co-star Marisa Tomei was named best supporting actress with the best actress title going to Michelle Williams for Wendy and Lucy.
