District III Revised Policy on Reschedules |
This just in from District III's Bill Worden: Due to the extraordinary cold and snowy weather in western WA over the last two weeks, District III league has developed a revised the policy for rescheduling matches to extend the season deadline for two weeks.
This means that matches that could not be played due to field and travel constraints may be rescheduled until 11 Jan 2009. This also affects matches that may have resulted in forfeits due to the season deadline constraint. This change is being made to maximize the opportunity for teams that have critical matches for final standings ranking to have that determination made on the pitch.
Here is modified guidance:
Section 3 Mandatory Reschedule
 (1) Game rescheduling is mandatory for the Presidentʼs Cup and those affected matches may be rescheduled until 11 Jan 2009. No other game reschedules are mandatory
Here is the recommended procedure for teams to follow for rescheduling matches:
1. The first thing to do is have the home team coordinate with their association or club scheduler/VP of Competition to identify a facility for the rescheduled match It is often advisable to have the opponent's association or club scheduler/VP of Competition directly involved at this stage, also.
2. Online instructions for rescheduling will be posted here .
3. In the event that a reschedule can not be negotiated, District III/VP of Competition will resolve the problem. This is a LAST resort as District III has no capacity to provide facilities or referees so is not in a good position to optimize these solutions for the parties.
Note that this will delay the acquisition of awards and the distribution will now be projected to be on 2 Feb 2009 - the Dist III board meeting.
It is requested that MARs forward this information to potentially affected teams and to their association VP of Competition/schedulers.
