TRAVEL Sister Cities planning tour, set Sept. 6 to 20

Kent-Dudince Sister Cities Association is planning a cultural tour of Slovakia, Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland for Sept. 6 to 20. Rudy Bachna, association president, will escort the travelers.

Tour highlights will include Budapest and the State Opera House, Chain Bridge connecting Buda and Pest, a folklore show, St. Stephens Basilica and Heros Square. A visit to Kents sister city of Dudince includes meeting local dignitaries and visiting the citys world-famous spas with special baths and mineral waters. Travels throughout the Tatry Mountains spanning Slovakia and Poland offer historic towns dating from the Middle Ages with cathedrals and chapels. The Tatry National Park will showcase mountain scenery.

Visits to major cities of Vienna, Bratislava, Krakow and Prague will take visitors to cathedrals where Hungarian kings were crowned, castles where the royal Habsburg family lived, the city where Pope John Paul II was born and where other historic events occurred.

Tour fees include airfare from Cleveland to Newark and on to Budapest, Hungary, 13 nights of first class hotel accommodations, two meals per day, air-conditioned bus transportation throughout countries on the itinerary, English-speaking guide, sightseeing and admissions listed on the itinerary.
